NVJCYO Sports – (Grades 3rd-8th)
The Northern Virginia Junior Catholic Youth Organization (NVJCYO) consists of approximately 45 parishes in the Diocese of Arlington. Parish boys and girls teams compete from grades 3 through 8, while commissioners attempt to have balanced and fair competition by creating divisions of teams of similar talent. Sports include: Track Meets, Basketball, Cross Country, Volleyball, Cheerleading, and Tennis.
Volleyball
The St. Theresa CYO Volleyball program follows the guidelines established by the NVJCYO. It is open to all female students currently enrolled in St. Theresa School in grades 3-8 or the St. Theresa Church Religious Education program in grades 3-8. The program is always looking for volunteers. All Coaches & volunteers must comply with the Arlington Diocese Child Protection Program. How to Register
Registration for the 2023 season opens on February 6th, 2023.

Cost
$55 to join a team.
Practices
Practices should begin in mid March – by then teams should be formed (enough players registered and a coach identified). Your child’s Coach will contact you with specifics. Practice times are determined by gym space availability and the coach’s availability. Practices are generally 60 minutes, twice a week.
Games
Games will begin in mid April. The games will be held on these weekends – April 15/16; 22/23; 29/30; May 6/7; 13/14; 20/21. Matches are played at gyms throughout the Diocese of Arlington – venues are determined based on availability.
Uniforms
Shirts will be provided and are covered as part of the fee. If you have any questions regarding uniforms, please contact Paul Dwyer at cyo@sainttheresaparish.com.

Basketball
The Basketball program follows the guidelines established by the NVJCYO. It is open to all students currently enrolled in St. Theresa School or the St. Theresa Church Religious Education program in grades 4-8. The program is always looking for volunteers. All coaches & volunteers must comply with the Arlington Diocese Child Protection Program.
Cheerleading
The Cheerleading program follows the guidelines established by the NVJCYO. It is open to all students currently enrolled in St. Theresa School or the St. Theresa Church Religious Education program in grades 4-8. The program is always looking for volunteers. All volunteers must comply with the Arlington Diocese Child Protection Program. This sport is currently looking for a Coach to lead the girls through the season! Tennis
The Tennis program follows the guidelines established by the NVJCYO.
